What is FretBoard?

FretBoard is an Open Source PalmOS reference tool under GPL license for players of the stringed instruments, supporting Guitar, Banjo, Bouzouki, Bass (4, 5 and 6 string), Mandolin, Violin, Dulcimer, Chapman Stick, alternative guitar tunings and many other instruments. Currently FretBoard holds a collection of 70 instrument tunings in 11 instrument groups. A complete list can be found here.

The main features of Fretboard

Display the position of notes on the fretboard of virtually any stringed instrument (currently FretBoard sports 70 different tunings for instuments from 4 to 14 strings). Display of chords in every key (with one-touch access to chord spellings) 56 chords are in the database Display of scales and modes in every key 56 scales in the database Allows you to hear the selected note, scale or chord. Allows you to add/delete notes to scales or chords with a simple tap. When you quit, the current view is saved as the default. Allows you to orient the picture of the neck in whichever direction you prefer.
